Turbo yeast for molasses Rum Turbo for 25L
Molasses has a large amount of non-fermentable sugars that create an enormous osmotic pressure at fermentation.
Molasses is the most difficult substance to ferment at all and often reaches only 7% alcohol.
This yeast reaches much higher, typically 11%
One package is intended for 25 liters of wort
Instructions when using a only molasses:
1) When using just molasses put 6.4kg of molasses into your 25L fermenter and add 5 litres of boiling water
2) Stir until dissolved
3) Then top up to 25L with cold water before adding Rum Turbo Yeast
4) Stir until fully mixed
5) Start gravity should be around 1.140 and finish 1.055-1.060 to yield 11% ABV
Instructions when using a blend of molasses with sugar for extra strength:
1) Put 5 litres of boiling water into your 25L fermenter together with 5kg of sugar (it can be refined or unrefined sugar)
2) Stir until dissolved
3) Then add 2kg of molasses, stir until dissolved
4) Then top up to 25L with cold water before adding Rum Turbo Yeast
5) Stir until fully mixed
6) Start gravity should be around 1.100 and finish 1.000-1.005 to yield 15% ABV
