The main feature of the device is that it works on the principle of a distiller.

The Soxhlet extractor is installed between the distillation cube and the dephlegmator.

When the wort - an alcohol-containing liquid in the distillation cube begins to boil, steam begins to form from the boiling wort.

It rises through a thick tube, then condenses and then enters the diopter, which has a sieve at the bottom.

The diopter is pre-filled with what you want to get the aroma and taste from.

When the overflow level is reached, the extract is returned to the distillation cube through a pipe from the opposite side.

One cycle of the extractor ends, after which the main volume of the extractor begins to fill again and the extraction cycle is repeated.

This process is cyclical - it is repeated several times. The number of repetitions of this process depends on the desired result.

The Soxhlet extractor can process 15-30 cycles per hour (depending on the heating power of the distillation cube).
