3.5L alembic copper distillation apparatus Coppers Traditional Alembic Still with built-in thermometer
The traditional still is made entirely of the finest copper. Since this metal not only conducts heat better, which helps both the fermentation process and distillation, but also improves the final result of the distillate in terms of taste.
Copper also reduces bacterial contamination (which is why it is also used in water pipes, as it helps maintain anti-bacterial water quality) and absorbs sulfur produced during fermentation.
Wall thickness: 1mm
Copper has been used in stills since ancient times and has been found for generations to remain the best type due to its properties and natural advantages in the distillation process.
Cleaning and maintenance
Before you start using the distiller, we recommend first distilling a couple of liters of water to get rid of impurities that have arisen during the production process. Keep the machine clean after use and it will serve you for many years.
With regular use of copper equipment, it oxidizes and can change color to dark red over time. You should use special cleaning products. Do not use abrasives under any circumstances. You can also use a traditional cleaning method: moisten a cloth in a mixture of salt and lemon juice and rub the surface of the device.
Application: distillation of essential oils, distillation of water, distillation of brandy from wine and beer, distillation of cognac, distillation of whiskey, flavoring of alcohol, making of alcohol, decorative element.
If you are using a still to extract essential oils, be very careful as they can build up on the walls of the still and create a dangerous layer. After use, all components of the device must be cleaned with warm water to get rid of grease, paying special attention to the cooling coil, otherwise it may become blocked.
If you use a still to extract essential substances, under no circumstances should you use it to distill an alcoholic drink, as the copper naturally soaks up the oil and thus contaminates the drink, which is no longer suitable for consumption.
Regarding the distillation of alcohol, the user should find out what laws apply in the country, as many countries have restrictions on distillation for this purpose.
